Carboxy/Methyl Cellulose (C.M.C.) Powder 7-HS

Our new CMC Gum, sourced from Amtex, is significantly stronger than our previous version, which was supplied by Hercules. To ensure optimal results, please note that you will need only 35 parts of the new CMC for every 100 parts of the old formula(7L).

We strongly recommend conducting a test batch before full-scale use, as the water quality can vary significantly by location. Factors such as pH and mineral content may influence the amount of CMC needed. You might require slight adjustments depending on your local water conditions.

Priced by the pound. An organic cellulose gum which functions as a thickener, binder, and suspending agent in glazes. Can also be used as a binding agent for glass powder and enamels.

Usually added to glazes in amounts of less than 0.5%. Add to warm water to dissolve and age before adding to a liquid glaze.
