Product Details
LifeCAST Gypsum Cement is a casting material that works very well with alginate. Once the alginate mold is made, LifeCAST is mixed and placed into the mold. LifeCAST "sets" hard enough to "demold" in about 1 hour.

For use in "bucket molds", the LifeCAST Gypsum Cement must be mixed thin enough to be pourable. We recommend about a 2.3 to 1 "powder to water" ratio (by weight) for bucket molds. For "layup molds", LifeCAST Gypsum Cement should be mixed a bit thicker so it can be applied to the inside surface of a face or torso mold without running too much. We recommend about a 2.8 to 1 "powder to water" ratio (by weight) for layup molds.

LifeCAST Gypsum Cement is bright white and sets very hard. While normal Plaster of Paris is about 800 psi strength, LifeCAST Gypsum Cement is about 8500 psi (about 10 times as hard). The fine grain of the LifeCAST Gypsum Cement will capture all the finest details of your alginate mold right down to the fingerprint level.

Once LifeCAST Gypsum Cement has completely dried (3-5 days) it can be painted or other finishes can be applied.
