Product Details

Model Motor Extruding Capacity Vacuum Pump Ship Wt.
Bluebird 675 Pug Mill 3/4 hp, 115 Volts, 60 Hz, 11 Amps, Single Phase 1,000 lbs/hour N/A 320 lbs.

Bluebird's mid-sized pug mills offer high quality wedging, reclaiming, and extruding capabilities in situations where clay use averages 1000 to 2000 lbs per month. Either is an excellent investment for the mid-sized production potter or school/university ceramic department; either also serves as a back-up machine for the larger production pottery. While using the auger design and construction materials found in earlier mid-sized pugmills, these incorporate new design features:
  • Barrel ports to permit removal of two-part stainless screens for cleaning without removing barrel
  • Horizontal ribbing on interior walls of barrel aiding clay flow, especially of fine-particled bodies
  • Horizontal mounting of components for improved durability and easier access when servicing

Bluebird 675 Midsize Pug Mill:
This model performs the basic functions of pugging and reclaiming clays which do not require de-airing. The majority of users find that the 675 reduces hand-wedging necessary for most clay bodies.

Safety
  • On/Off switch with padlock
  • Instruction 'CAUTION' sign
  • Clay press fully covers hopper - can be locked
  • Totally enclosed drive components
  • Complete operating and maintenance instructions
    included

  • Maintenance As with all equipment, routine maintenance insures against untimely breakdowns. Your annual service checklist should include the following: change gearbox oil, lubricate chain, grease bearings, check chain and sprocket alignment, check all bolts and set screws for tightness.

    Extruding
Solid extrusions are possible with standard nozzle and owner-made dies. Hollow extrusions require an accessory 4.25" round nozzle and internal die holder. Manual includes instructions for die-making and using the equipment as an extruder.

    Guarantee
Bluebird guarantees to replace or repair any part which is defective in material or in workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase. Drive train and electrical components are guaranteed by their respective manufacturers for a period of one (1) year from date of purchase. Repairs made by other than authorized service dealers will void the manufacturer's guarantee.
      Output
The principal function of the pug mill is to wedge and reclaim moist scraps. Actual output will depend on the operator, individual materials and conditions, but will be between 1000 and 1200 lbs/hr
