A Revolutionary
Trimming Tool
The Grabber Pad’s uniqueness is in its ability to hold a rotating
pot without slipping. You will be amazed at the Non-Skid feature of your
new Grabber Pad. Place a coin on the pad and tip up until the surface is
almost vertical and you will see that the coin stays in place. We know of
no other material that exhibits these characteristics.
Directions for Using Your Grabber Pad
Your Grabber Pad is attached to a Plastic Bat that will fit the standard
bat pins on most major brand pottery wheels (10” on center). Place
the Grabber Pad onto bat pins on your wheel head and you are ready to trim.
Because of the no skid properties of the Grabber Pad, you will not need
to adhere your pottery with wads of clay. You may facilitate trimming by
using your left hand to press on the bottom of the pot. The Grabber Pad
works best with lower profiles, such as plates, bowls and casseroles, and
they will require less pressure. Taller objects, such as vases, will not
slide, but may tend to tip. You may overcome this tipping problem by pressing
harder with your left hand. Placing a jar lid on the pot, on which to press,
can help! As dust and clay trimmings add up onto the Grabber Pad it needs
to be cleaned and refreshed. A simple rinsing of the Grabber Pad immediately
removes the trimmings and restores its full non-skid qualities. You will
find the Grabber Pad works on pottery at all of its different stages...
damp, leather hard, dry, bisque, waxed, or unfired glazed.
