Creative
Industries Plastic Bats
These new bats are 1/4” thick, matte finish on both sides to hold
and release clay more easily. They are manufactured of injection molded
plastic. Creative Industries states that they can't warp, the pin holes
can't enlarge and they will never wear out. They are 1/4” thick,
matte finish on both sides to hold and release clay more easily.
The unique design allows a perfect, snug fit without jamming for all
wheels which use 9" or 10" center to center pin system with 3/8" diameter
pins (all current models by leading wheel manufacturers).
The pin holes don't come through to the throwing surface so your pot
bottoms won't be marked. The "Easy Lift Rim" around the outside edge
of all C.I. Bats allows them to be easily lifted off the wheel head.

Hydro-Bats
The Hydro-Bat is made of gypsum cement which makes it nearly ten times
stronger than conventional plaster bats, with a similar water absorption
rate. No longer will you cut through the bottom of your piece with a
wire tool. Just simply allow your thrown form to stiffen and easily
lift it off the surface.
You know that annoying little wobble you get when you use a plastic
bat, well the Hydro-Bat has solved that problem. Cast into the bottom
of the bat are two hard rubber grommets that assure a snug fit on all
standard bat pin heads. This will allow you to use the Hydro-Bat on
just about every potter’s wheel out there. |

Lester
Plaster Bat System
Make your
own plaster bats that are keyed to securely fit pins on every wheel
type!
The Lester Plaster
Bat System is so easy to use that anyone can make the Plaster Bats and
install the Adjustable Bat Keys. The system works on any wheel with
bat key holes. Complete instructions are included.
The Plaster Bat System is designed to use No. 1 Pottery Plaster for
optimum strength and absorption. Plaster Bats have a hard, smooth, flat,
flawless working surface. They do not flex when removing them from the
wheel, which reduces the risk of distorting your wet pot. Pots usually
“pop” off of plaster without having to be cut away. Two,
large-diameter holes in the bottom of the Plaster Bat mate with the
Adjustable Bat Keys and are lined with wear-resistant plastic sleeves.
The sleeves are an essential part of the Plaster Bats as they absorb
the force from the bat keys and minimize wear to the holes. Without
the sleeves, the holes would wear, open up, and fail prematurely.
An Adjustable Bat Key is at the heart of the system and makes the Lester
Plaster Bat System work. The Adjustable Bat Key is the only key on the
market that compensates for mismatch between the wheel’s key holes
and the Plaster Bat’s key holes. The Adjustable Bat Key permits
the bat holes in the Plaster Bat to be precisely aligned with the Adjustable
Bat Keys mounted onto the wheel. The precise fit allows minimum effort
to be exerted by the potter during bat mounting and removal. The Adjustable
Bat Key has a large diameter that improves mating, and creates more
interface surface area for an improved snug, secure fit.
The Lester Plaster Bat is 7/8” thick with a 12.5” working
surface. It has an overhang that allows you to easily grab it for removing
it from the wheel head.
Note: 2 sleeves are required for each bat.
Note: Plaster is not included. |

Plaster bats offer
a definite advantage over other bats... they absorb moisture evenly
from the base of the clay form. Pots dry evenly and release easily without
the need for wire cutting. The Pure & Simple Mold Making System
allows you to make your own plaster bats easily and economically...
for about a dollar a bat! Super quick mounting and releasing from the
wheel-head is another advantage of our bats. With our unique Quick-Release
wheel-head attachment all of our bats, including the domed bats, lock
on the wheel-head securely and perfectly centered every time. You simply
mix together plaster and water with the formula given. Pour the plaster
into the mold and seat the Quick-Release into the back of the mold to
create the concave triangular impression in the back of the bat. The
bat then simply drops over the matching convex triangular disk, which
is mounted on the wheel-head. A tongue-and-groove system is achieved
for a superior bat. Domed Bats allow you to throw lids and plates complete
at one sitting! You actually throw them upside down on the domed bat.
Form the foot or the knob at the same time. Trimming is eliminated,
thereby cutting your work in half! It’s faster, easier and assures
you a more uniform product. Finally, you have a cost effective and hassle
free way to create.
