Extra Heavy Elements, Coated with ITC 213 Ceramic Coating for Metals In addition to using heavy gauge wire, our elements are dipped in a special high temperature ceramic coating that is made to preserve metals under extreme temperatures. This coating protects the elements from the normal oxidation effects due to the exposure of various gaseous elements at extreme temperatures. Tests have shown that elements protected with this coating can even withstand repeated exposure to kiln chambers filled with burning carbon based fuels (such as in a reduction atmosphere). Case in Point: The top part of the image on the right shows an industrial molybdenum element that was used for 3 months in continual usage at 2480° F.
